Tomorrow is going to be better…

One day, a man drove to a river bridge and stepped out of the car wearing very expensive clothing. He looked depressed and climbed over the railing, preparing to jump. As people noticed him, many cars stopped, resulting in a traffic jam.  Soon, the traffic backed up for miles and the police arrived with the fire department.

They began talking to the man and telling him not to jump. They told him that he may not die; he may break all of his bones and be paralyzed for life. But their talks did not seem to make any impact on the guy. In the traffic jam, there was an old truck driver who was carrying lawn mowers, rakes, and shovels. He seemed to be an elderly gardener. He walked up to where the man was about to jump, made his way through the people, and shouted up at the man on the ledge, “Hey, I got to go to work. Either jump or get off the bridge. If you decide not to jump, tomorrow is going to be better!”

The man on the ledge looked unsure now. He got off the railing. The police handcuffed him and put him in their jeep. The gardener walked back to his truck waiting for the traffic to move. A cop stopped him and asked how did he manage to do that. The old man said, “Sometimes all you need is a little reassurance that there are good things in store in future. We all live for a better tomorrow and so does he!”
